How we handle your data

Effective date: March 2026  ·  Last updated: September 2026

This site is a free tennis equipment information service. We do not ask for or store any personal information — there are no accounts, no questionnaires, no cookies and no advertising trackers, and we sell nothing to anyone.

1. Who We Are

Tennis Pro Equipment Database is a website that provides information about professional tennis player equipment. We are the data controller for any personal data processed through this site.

2. What Data We Collect

A. Automatic Technical Data

Our hosting provider (Netlify) may log standard server-side information such as IP addresses and request timestamps as part of its infrastructure operation. This is governed by their privacy policy and is not accessible to us in identifiable form. We hold no database of visitors and store nothing about you ourselves.

B. Racket Comparison Tool

The racket comparison tool can generate a written analysis of two frames using Anthropic's Claude AI. Only the specifications of the two rackets you selected are sent — no personal data, no identifiers and nothing about you or your game. Neither the request nor the result is stored on our side.

C. Player Database

We maintain a database of professional tennis players and their publicly known equipment (racquets, strings). This data relates to public figures acting in their professional capacity and is sourced from publicly available sporting information.

3. Why We Collect It (Legal Basis)

Purpose Legal Basis (GDPR Art. 6)
Operating, securing and serving the website Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — our host must process request data to deliver pages and defend against abuse

4. Third-Party Services (Sub-Processors)

The following third parties are involved in operating this site:

Provider Role Privacy Policy
Netlify Website hosting and serverless function execution netlify.com/privacy
Anthropic (Claude AI) Generates the written analysis in the racket comparison tool from racket specifications only anthropic.com/privacy
Google Fonts Web font delivery (your IP address is transmitted to Google when fonts load) policies.google.com/privacy

5. Data Retention

We operate no user database, so there is nothing for us to retain. Server logs held by Netlify are subject to their own retention schedule. Racket specifications sent to Anthropic for the comparison tool are subject to Anthropic's data retention policies; Anthropic's API does not use inputs to train models by default — see their privacy policy for details.

6. Your Rights

Under GDPR you have the right to:

Because we do not store personal data, in most cases there will be nothing for us to return or delete — but contact us any time and we will confirm that in writing.

7. Cookies and Tracking

This site does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or advertising networks. No user sessions are tracked across visits. Your light/dark theme choice is kept in your own browser's local storage and is never transmitted to us.

8. International Data Transfers

Anthropic and Netlify are US-based companies. Data transferred to them is covered by their respective data transfer mechanisms (e.g., EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
